GEI MEKONG has signed a Heads of Agreement with Cambodia waste management company Global Action for Environment Action (GAEA).
In April 2020, GEI and GAEA commenced discussions on two projects to transport municipal waste and industrial waste to GEI’s proposed waste-to-energy facilities in Siem Reap and Kampong Speu.
These discussions have led to the signing of a Heads of Agreement between to the two companies, emphasising a commitment by both companies to improve waste management in Cambodia.
“We are very happy to be working with GAEA. We believe GAEA sets the standard for waste collection in Cambodia.” said Steve Morrish, Chairman of GEI MEKONG. “Not only are we looking to build Cambodia’s first waste-to-energy facility but we have expressed our desire to partner with GAEA to provide superior waste collection and treatment services.” Morrish said.
